Spark Unit
What is Spark?
Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is an advanced technology in molding that maximizes accuracy and detail.
Spark is a non-traditional machining method used to cut and shape hard and complex materials, such as hard metals and complex geometric parts.

In this method, electrical discharges, or sparks, are used to cut materials. Spark is particularly useful in mold making and manufacturing of precision parts with complex shapes.
For example, sharp corners or special shapes that cannot be made by CNC milling machines are made on the mold in this unit by Spark machines.
Spark Advantages:
- High accuracy
- Reduction of stresses
- Removal of a small amount of material
- Ability to process hard materials
- Ability to process complex shapes
How Spark CNC and ZNC work:
An electrode is usually copper or graphite and the workpiece is placed in an insulating liquid such as oil or petroleum

As the electrode approaches the workpiece in the horizontal and vertical axes, an electrical discharge or spark is created between them, which causes a point of material to melt and evaporate. These sparks are created sequentially and slowly remove the material from the surface of the workpiece and shape it into the desired shape.
